In proof of work (PoW) blockchains such as Bitcoin and Ethereum, the miner who wins the race to create the next block for the blockchain gets to pay themselves a number of coins, called the block reward, this is currently 6.25 Bitcoin (over US$ 300,000) for Bitcoin miners. The block reward is the first transaction in the mined block and is paid to the coinbase account, an account to which the miner owns the private key.

Tabbre’s innovation is to create a new proof of work blockchain, the Tabb Chain where the block reward, denominated in the Tabb cryptocurrency, is paid into two coinbase accounts, one for the block’s miner and a second specified and controlled by a Decentralized Foundation.

The Decentralized Foundation will be charged with using the block rewards as collateral for borrowing fiat denominated capital that will then be invested in economically viable schemes that deliver sustainable energy generation, distribution and storage and other sustainable technologies. The Foundation’s profits will either be reinvested or used to buy and burn Tabb to increase its value.

To demonstrate the potential power of this scheme: had Bitcoin been configured in this way when it was launched, with the Bitcoin’s Decentralised Foundation’s Purpose being simply to invest in US S&P 500 index stocks, the Bitcoin Decentralised Foundation would be sitting on nearly 2 trillion dollars in stocks and could this year, in theory, distribute 100 billion dollars to Bitcoin holders by buying and burning Bitcoin.

Decentralized Governance is achieved via rules that are encoded into governance smart contracts.

Achieving this requires a smart contract execution environment to be provided by the blockchain so that the smart contracts that encode the decentralized foundations governance and tokenocracy rules can be processed.

The governance smart contracts are amendable using a proof of stake voting system

This allows the Tabbre system to grow and evolve over time to reflect society's changing needs.

Tabbre Global Ledger is a multicurrency ledger, with currencies being created and defined by smart contracts.

The Tabbre system defines two core cryptocurrencies: Tabb and Bre.

Tabb has a limited supply. Tabb is mined on the Tabb Chain, a proof of work blockchain. New Tabb are created as a block reward. The number of Tabb granted as a block reward is halved every two years. Block rewards cease once the block reward reaches less than one Tabb, at which point no new Tabb will be created.

Bre is created dynamically on the proof of stake blockchain, the Bre Chain, in accordance with the Tabbre system's governance rules.

Transaction charges and other usage fees are payable in Bre. Tabb is used as collateral for the stakes used in the Bre Chain proof of stake consensus protocol and the Tabbre Global Ledger's proof of majority consensus protocol. Stakeholders are rewarded in Bre.

The elegant management of transaction meta data by the Tabbre Global Ledger allows Tabbre to inter operate with the existing financial system and its regulations while preserving account privacy.

Tabbre will be a censor resistant global monetary system that will supplement and compete with the world’s existing fiat based banking systems.

Bre is the currency for the pricing and sale of energy generated by the Tabbre scheme.
This will create a substantial and sustainable global economic role for Bre allowing it to become an international decentralized currency to rival fiat currencies.

As such Bre will need to be created in sufficient quantities that it operates as a stable value coin. It is envisaged the value of Bre will be governed by the average price of energy produced by the scheme, for example, 1 Bre will be the average cost of 100 Kwh (360 MJ) of energy supplied by the scheme.
The transactional volume that Bre will need to handle will be massive, so it is proposed that there will be two mechanisms for handling Bre, the Bre Chain and the Tabbre Global Ledger.

The Bre Chain, is a proof of stake consensus blockchain that uses Tabb for staking and will price transaction charges in Bre. The Bre Chain will create new Bre. Bre creation will be governed by configurable smart contract based rules.

The Tabbre Global Ledger operates with the Bre Chain and is a massively scalable ledger that uses the Tabbre Projects second key innovation, the proof of majority (PoM) public consensus protocol. The Tabbre Global Ledger can scale linearly to process millions of transactions per second including both value transfer transactions and smart contract transactions.
